Cameron Green

“I am a 21-year-old final year BSc Geoionformatics at the University of Pretoria. I have spent most of my life in a small mining town called Welkom in the Free State. I decided to move from my circle city with two robots to Pretoria with robots everywhere to further my studies. My passion for geography, the environment and computers started in Primary School and I carried that passion right up until Grade 12 and even in my subject choices. Where better to join all 3 passions than in Geoinformatics? I am a hard-working, diligent student who is trustworthy and when I set my mind to something, nothing stops me from achieving my goal. I am passionate and goal driven in everything I do and my work reflects it.”

Owen Thord-Gray

Owen is a third year BSc Geoinformatics student at the University of Pretoria. He matriculated in 2013 with distinctions in his two easiest subjects and no solid plans for the future. It wasn’t until a friend of his father set up a meeting for him that he had direction. Owen met with a representative of ESRI and gained a strong interest in GIS. He registered at the University of Pretoria at the first opportunity and started studying Geoinformatics in 2015. Reading large amounts of paperbound and electronic fiction books helps Owen to keep sane and he can sometimes be persuaded to go fishing for the weekend, however, he has yet to actually catch a fish. Currently he is involved in a project at Alaska, Mamelodi in Gauteng for his third year project
